Supported Living Specialist

Our Mission
Fairbanks Resource Agency is a nonprofit Alaska organization dedicated to ensuring that Interior Alaskans with disabilities and their families have equal opportunities to be fully included in their communities—where education, employment, housing, recreation, and family services are accessible to all with the same respect and dignity.

Key Responsibilities
 Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
 Administer medications following prescribed protocols and accurately document all medication-related activities
 Collect and record data related to progress and service outcomes
 Support implementation of individualized Plans of Care (POCs)
 Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and recreational outings
 Promote independence, positive behaviors, and skill development
 Collaborate with families, case managers, and healthcare professionals
 Ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all participants

Schedule
 12-hour shifts (3-day work weeks with alternating Wednesdays)

Day Shift
 Sunday–Tuesday plus every other Wednesday 6:45 AM – 7:00 PM
 Thursday–Saturday plus every other Wednesday 6:45 AM – 7:00 PM

Night Shift
 Sunday–Tuesday plus every other Wednesday 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM
 Thursday–Saturday plus every other Wednesday 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM

Includes weekends, holidays, and overtime opportunities

Minimum Qualifications
 Must be at least 21 years of age
 High School Diploma or equivalent
 Valid Alaska Driver’s License with a good driving record
 Ability to pass a State of Alaska background check
 Reliable transportation
 Basic computer and documentation skills
 Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills
 Ability to provide compassionate, person-centered care
 Patience, professionalism, and sound judgment
 Ability to learn and utilize EMR systems and other technology
 Commitment to supporting independence in a least restrictive environment

Physical Requirements
 Medium work with lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
 Ability to assist with physical interventions as needed
 Ability to communicate clearly in emergency situations

Certifications Provided by FRA
 CPR for Adult, Child, and Infant
 First Aid
 Safety-Care

Immunization Requirements
 Annual PPD Test
 Hepatitis B vaccination or waiver
