Job Summary and Qualifications

Under supervision of the Market Cardiovascular Service Line Director, the CVOR Manager oversees the Cardiovascular Operating Room, including perfusion and data collection. The manager works collaboratively in guiding the department’s growth, patient satisfaction, physician relations and fiscal responsibility. The manager supervises and directs the delivery of patient care and care related services for the CVOR in accordance to administrative policies, as well as hospital vision, mission and strategies. The manager works collaboratively with staff, physicians, and other disciplines within the hospital to create a system of safe, quality health care.

Maintain clinical knowledge of areas within the department

Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing day to day operations.

Works with senior leadership, department directors, unit managers and program coordinators across the facility to streamline processes, develop best evidence-based clinical protocols and facilitate cardiovascular patient care.

Establish effective working relationships with physicians, employees and referring facilities.

Develops and implements policies/procedures that guide/support provision of services.

Coordinates service line development throughout the continuum of care placing patient safety as the primary goal.

Maintain quality control and clinical outcome programs/registries: STS, TVT, VQI ELSO and GWTG.

Recommend number of qualified/competent staff to provide department services.

Ensures new employees receive appropriate orientation. Facilitates ongoing education and training. Assist with competency development.

Assess and evaluate employee work performance; implement learning plans and complete staff yearly evaluations

Counsel staff; implement disciplinary process when indicated, including termination

Evaluates opportunities to implement new technology/services to differentiate and drive service line volumes.

Handles concerns or complaints from physicians, visitors and patients.

Assist with identifying cost-effective systems needed to support the service line, considering business trends, resource availability and changes in practice.

Co-leads service line physician and or multidisciplinary meetings/committees.

Assist with additional service line development needs.

Assists with operations involving scheduling and staffing to ensure patient, office and surgeon satisfaction

Interview and hire personnel

Provide leadership in compliance with regulatory agency standards, national nursing standards and specialty nursing standards

Evaluate patient outcomes

Monitors quality audits and quality measures

Manages and collaborates on aspects pertaining to supplies, instruments, and equipment for the Cardiovascular Operating Room department

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

1-3 Years related experience – Required

4 Year Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred

NH RN License - Required
