Phlebotomist
ONLY PERMANENT EMPLOYEES IN THE TITLE AND THOSE THAT ARE REACHABLE ON THE LABORATORY ASSOCIATE CIVIL SERVICE LIST ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.Division/Program Summary: The Bureau of Public Health Clinics-Sexually Transmitted Infections has the mission of improving the sexual health of all New Yorkers. To achieve this the Bureau provides direct clinic services to people seeking sexual health care, and services to sex partners; monitors disease trends; provides education and training to providers and community groups, conducts research, and develop policies to improve sexual health and wellness. The Bureau of Public Health Clinics-Sexually Transmitted Infections operates 8 Sexual Health clinics throughout New York City (NYC). Position Summary: The Laboratory Associate, Level I/Phlebotomist will be assigned to one of the Bureau's clinics and report directly to the Quickie Lab Supervisors. The Laboratory Associate will perform phlebotomist duties of drawing several blood tubes per patient. Requirements
High school diploma or its equivalent and: 1. One year of appropriate full-time experience or training in a biological, chemical, or clinical laboratory; or 2. Eight credits, including laboratory coursework, in biology, chemistry, or medical technology, from an accredited college or university; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of (1) and (2) above. However all candidates must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Experienced (non-manager)
