serving Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner Meals to the Marines SUMMARY: Works under general supervision and follows prescribed steps after receiving instructions as to how to do the work. Manager and Assistant Manager will observe work to determine whether it is performed properly. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Sets up and serves food on cafeteria lines and portions food for individual servings in accordance with instructions. Replaces glassware, dishes and silverware and refills condiment containers. Wipes and washes tables, counter tops. Cleans work area, utensils and equipment; removes garbage; mops floors; cleans walls, windows and tables. Removes dirty dishes, glasses and silverware from serving counters. Mixes washing solutions and operates electric dish washing machines and/or wash dishes, glassware, pots, pans and kitchen utensils by hand. Makes coffee in urns. Assists in the set up of serving lines. Performs a wide variety of manual tasks in kitchen or dining area or food activity, which involves light to moderate physical effort and is done according to established procedures. Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other staff members. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
