Boilermaker Apprenticeship
Boilermakers work in the refineries, powerhouses, nuclear plants, shipbuilding and steel mills. It requires a good mechanical aptitude with a good attention to detail.
Boilermakers are skilled tradesman who work in refineries, powerhouses, nuclear plants, shipbuilding and steel mills. We build and maintain boilers, tanks, vessles and ships. In order to build or maintain these structures we use various welding, rigging and buning techniques. We work maintanance and outage jobs in these industries to keep them operating safely and efficiently.
The Great Lakes Area Boilermakers Apprenticeship Program (GLABAP) offers a fantastic opportunity for those looking to enter the skilled trades, especially if traditional college isn’t the right path for you.

Requirements
If you would like to apply for the Apprenticeship, we only take on-line applications. Click HERE to start the process. You will need to take pictures of your Birth Certificate, High School Diploma and any welding certifications you may have. If you were military a picture of your DD-214. Also, make sure you choose Local 85 under Local Lodge Map.
