Apprenticeship in the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 34 Indianapolis Indiana
On behalf of over 30,000 proud members of the International Union of Elevator Constructors throughout the United States and Canada, we welcome you to the IUEC. For well over a century, our talented members located in the United States and Canada have reshaped the skylines of cities on both sides of the border and kept our nations moving.
IUECapprentices and mechanics are responsible for assembling, installing, and replacing elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, moving walkways and similarequipment in new and old buildings. Elevator constructors also maintain and repair this equipment and modernize older equipment. Jobs in construction and modernization will mainly focus on assembling new equipment, installing machinery, and following a building plan. Other roles, such as repair and service, will require troubleshooting and problem solving. The IUEC’s apprenticeship program prepares its members for all different kinds of work in the elevator industry.
Benefits
