Sheet Metal Local 88 Joint Apprenticeship & Training Fund
Background Information
The sheet metal industry needs highly skilled and motivated workers. Through courses offered at our training center, you can get the high quality education and training designed to give you a rewarding career. As an apprentice, you participate in both on-the-job training and classroom study, allowing you to practical experience while learning the technical aspects of the industry.
Why we want to hire veterans
Military veterans possess many ideal qualities of a qualified candidate such as the proper skills, professional ethic, maturity and discipline. The skills they acquire during their time of service can be easily applied to the job site.
What we currently do for veterans at our company
Our program participates in the SMART Heroes program. Under our direct entry rules, SMART Heroes graduates may be given direct entry or be eligible for advanced apprenticeship standing. Our direct entry options take the skills veterans have learned in the military and put them right to work.
Our program is certified by Veteran Affairs to process the G.I. Bill so that eligible veterans may receive their education benefits while completing the apprenticeship program.
